I was thinking about my goals for 2018 and made the decision not to place limits on what I want to do. I realized, in the past, I’ve unconsciously placed limits on what I could do based on my present circumstances. Some of those limits were based on fear, financial resources, miseducation, and plain procrastination. Other limits were based on lack of confidence and people pleasing. Sometimes I would get so caught up with other people’s worlds that I would forget my purpose and identity altogether.
Though I’ve always been a more reserved person, I’ve come to understand that I have allowed my voice to become silenced more and more throughout the years. I’ve also forgotten about many of the dreams and adventures I used to go on in my early 20’s. But not anymore… The numbness I have succumbed to within the last few years must be gone.
I challenge you to take a good look at your life so far. Are there things you want to change? The answer is probably…… YES! If so, make a list, share it with someone, and get to moving.
I’m currently in the process of making my list now. I want to be honest but wise about the changes I want to make. I know it will take lots of work for someone like me to stay accountable because for so long I’ve been living in my own glass box. I’ve looked out from my box, admiring the world, but not enjoyed it to the fullest.
Let’s step outside the box together. If you want to take on this challenge with me, feel free to comment below with a few of your list items. I will share some of my adventures along the way as well. I can’t wait to smash the limits with you!
